The Portsmouth Public Library is inviting teens to try their hand at making robots that can help save the environment at the Eco-bot Challenge happening on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Youth Services Room of the Library from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evening.
This event will allow participants to learn how robots can be used to preserve and protect the environment. Teams of two to three will be asked to design a control surface for their Eco-bot to perform a simulated environmental cleanup. Each entry will be judged according to the effectiveness of the robot based on how much of the spill it sweeps up.
Rick Alleva from UNH Cooperative Extension will be present to oversee the event.
The competition is limited to twenty participants whose ages are between ten and fourteen.
RSVP is required by March 12th to participate at the event.
