Treat your ears in a night of great music at Jose Duque takes center stage at the Press Room this Thursday, October 10, 2012 from 9 pm onwards. Duque will be playing hits from his latest Reload album.
A native of Venezuela, percussionist/drummer Jose Duque is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and has studied at the Escuela de Musica Ars Nova with Cuban master Ruben “Tuti” Jimenez.
He has performed with Amaya: Flamenco Sin Limites, Venezuelan pop artist Felix Roman, Juan Francisco, Roldan Pena’s Jazz 3, Flamenco y Duende, and Sara es Rara. He is the drummer/percussionist for the Randy Armstrong Trio and leader of Jose Duque’s ZumbaTres, an experimental jazz band.
At the moment besides these two projects, Jose is a member of Kingsley Durant Trio, Randy Armstrong World Ensemble, and The Blurry Men, another transatlantic project with Rafael Paz of RC2 fame.
