Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as the Music Hall’s Extraordinary Cinema presents Kon-Tiki on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 7:30 in the evening onwards at the Historic Theater.
Kon-Tiki is a 2012 Norwegian historical drama film directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg about the 1947 Kon-Tiki expedition. The role of Thor Heyerdahl is played by Pal Sverre Valheim Hagen. It was the highest-grossing film of 2012 in Norway and the country’s most expensive production to date.
The film was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards. It is Norway’s fifth Academy Award nomination. The film was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 70th Golden Globe Awards. It is the first time a Norwegian film has been nominated for both an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
Tickets for the show are sold at $9 for adults and $7 for seniors, students, and military.
