Police have charged a man from New Castle for allegedly uploading violent and offensive comments about a woman on a social media site.
According to the authorities, they discovered the offensive remarks during an effort to subdue violent protests concerning Sydney’s CBD over the last weekend.
Officers are actively monitoring the internet and social media to reprimand violent, as well as sexually explicit, messages.
Yesterday, local police apprehended the 38-year-old at his residence in Williamtown.
As reported in ABC.net.au, “He was taken to Raymond Terrace police station and charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.”
The suspect has been granted bail and will be facing court next month.
