Pinterest adds Categories tab

To improve user navigation, Pinterest has added a Categories tab—making it easier for subscribers to find relevant content in the site.

While this simplifies the content-finding process for casual users, for content marketers the new tab can be used to easily segregate industry relevant content.

As social media continues to evolve, sites like Pinterest will be more and more valuable for online marketers. The site focuses largely on visuals, which gives marketers a new perspective. While Twitter and Facebook are optimal for engagement, Pinterest is suited for social sharing of content.

Pinterest has drawn plenty of attention for its marketing value. Earlier this year, the social media site received $100 million worth in funding from Rakuten, a Japanese e-commerce company.
