Subway, the popular fast-food chain, is facing criticism after a picture-post on Facebook showed that its 12-inch footlong sandwich was an inch short.
A customer from Australia posted a picture of a Subway footlong sandwich beside a tape measure. The global fast-food company says that its footlong sandwiches are 12-inches long. However, the picture clearly illustrates that the sandwich is only 11 inches.
On top of that, more than 100,000 Facebook members “Liked” or commented on the photo. The picture had a text caption, which said “Subway pls respond.”
Similar pictures have popped up all over Facebook. In response, the New York Post has issued an investigation on the matter. The popular American newspaper found that four of seven Subway footlong sandwiches are shorter than the advertised length.
