Follow a leader’s struggle to keep his nation afloat despite many hindrances this Wednesday, June 20, 2012 for the screening of The Island President, at the Historic Theater in the Music Hall from 7:30 pm onwards.
The Island President shows the life of Mohamed Nasheed, president of the Maldives as he faces the great obstacle of keeping both the country and its citizens safe and above water.
After freeing the country from despotic leadership, President Nasheed has to cope with the fact that his beloved Maldives is a low lying island that may become uninhabitable if sea levels rise to three feet or higher.
Set in one of the most scenic places in the world, The Island President captures nationalism, patriotism, leadership, politics, and a man’s courage to face great obstacles for his countrymen.
Tickets for the show are priced at $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for seniors 60 years old and above, students, and members of the military.
